ka kah! mei mei...

My cousin Eddy and his family (except for little Symphony) are in town for a holiday, and my sis and I had a great time bringing them around Victoria Market. We bought a trunk of fruits and then spontaneously decided to drive up Mount Dandenong under my less-than-satisfactory navigation.

Little Tiffy was the main star! Constantly expressing incomprehensible gibberish like ka ba mei mei takju, she drinks juice by pouring it all over her Hush Puppies shirt. "KOH! KOH!", she would exclaim, as she tries to inform her mom about how cold she's feeling.

Her supply of hype-juice never runs low, but bipolar syndromes are apparent at times. Extremely passionate about big pieces of land, be it concrete or grass, Tiffy loves watching me getting electrocuted everytime her tiny finger touches my face.

After having her first ice-cream ever. the night ended with a few kisses on Ka Kah's cheek.

That's what she calls me. :)

livin' in a good time

I was just thinking how lonely a life it would be without Facebook and Twiiter. For an international student, at least.

Yea yea, you use neither but you're fine, well you're a loner.

But think about it, with noone to share your thoughts and moods with, whether or not people actually read them, you just feel like there's someone out there.

I can't imagine the times when my dad used to study here in Melbourne, having had to write letters home and wait for days before you can read a reply.

Now, all you have to do is to update your status, and within less than 3 seconds someone comments.

Don't you feel blessed? Of all the eras to be born into, you lived to see the mobile phone and internet advance, 29" TV's reaching almost a metre thick to just merely 3cm now with gigantic LED TV's.

You got the chance to FLY when 100 years ago, it was never heard of. To be in a city as awesome as Melbourne, OMG so many things to be thankful for!

I feel extremely blessed to be alive. Just a thought.

Another reason to rejoice for being alive is that I managed a whole day without meat. I think it's my first time. I'm so hungry right now, after having salads, bread with olive oil, fried mushrooms and cheeses all day. They just DON'T FILL ME.

But I love the fact that I'm doing this for the big guy up there. The tougher the fast is, the more it reminds you of the reason behind it.

I'm preparing myself for a 7 hour prac tomorrow, and I just realised that there's no way a human being can prepare him/herself for something like that.

But let's hit the sack and get a fresh, early start tomorrow, shall we?

perfik saturday

Today a bunch of us woke up darn early to make ourselves believe we are healthy people.

From the muscle aches and sore thighs we're suffering with now, clearly we thought wrong. But it was my first time playing baseball (with rules omg) and it was CRAZY FUN! We played basketball and a lil bit of frisbee-ing too!

I didn't know I captured Ben grinding pepper onto his breakfast.

Alice in Wonderland at IMAX was disappointing. For me.

this city

So I had a little bit of time. It was Saturday, and I needed to relive the "old days". It was cool that I had Alvin's tele lens to borrow the other day, made a good stalker lens.

Church today was CRAZY! We had Rodney Howard-Browne preaching, and the whole church just went MAD! In a good way, okay! The presence of God swept the whole place, I've never seen anything like it before!

Okay, it took my printer more than an hour to print my notes, woes of the inkjet. I'm going to bed now, got all my notes ready.

Another week of joy!

iBought iPod

It's sorta like my 21st birthday present.

Got my dad to write me something.

And while we're doing some product shots, here's the notebook I made, lovin' how it turned out.

surprises when you're not looking

I had a half day on Tuesday.

I was getting to the point where I thought, this is all there is. I've covered the whole city, no more hidden nooks and corners are gonna pop out of no where anymore, I need to get out of the city to get some fresh inspiration.

However, my schedule would not allow me to do so, so I had a cuppa down at my favourite spot. I brought my camera out but after looking long and hard, I knew it was a dead end. I finished up my coffee, and I was given a key to a different world.

I've always wanted to step into that realm, through those golden doors. I posted up a photo of it a year ago.

FINALLY, an opportunity out of nowhere.

It was past the facade now, I got to experience 1932 archi-wonder from the INSIDE! With VERY limited access though.

Surprises. They hit you in the face when you're not looking. Made my day.

i was just looking back..

..at my Bangkok photos. Miss the holidays so much, but I guess life was never meant to be a holiday.

Now if you're wondering why I haven't been posting a lot of photos lately, it's because I've been using film. It's also because I don't have time for photography. I still dream about last year, when I grab my Lowepro and just.. Start walking.

When we were in Bangkok, one of the most exhilarating things we did was to ride on one of these tuk-tuk's.

At night.

They get you from Point A to Point B. FAST. I don't know what is it about them, but it's like using the brakes is a sin. We went against the traffic flow, weaved through traffic jams, went from 0° to 90° at lightning speed around corners, and are surprisingly still alive.

Happy times.

rowin' ma boat

I guess it's time to take things slow.

Of course you've noticed the lack of updates. Of course you realise I haven't been replying to comments.

The first day of uni was okay, I was pretty excited about the new subjects.

"The worst semester of the course"

Surprisingly I'm not affected by the statement everyone has been making. Plus, I haven't been having the camera itch lately, which is a good thing I guess. Of course, I'm still absolutely passionate about it, thinking about digging deeper into film, bringing things back to basics. With a DSLR you just take it anywhere and snap anything.

UNHEALTHY!

Pray for me and my new semester.
