So after I was done with the city, I followed my cousin's advice and headed down to Newmarket from Britomart.



It's still old school hole-punchin' on paper tickets for em Kiwis, but I enjoyed the train ride.



I didn't do much at Newmarket, shopped a lil', had coffee, and then I was bored. The parallel imports shop caught my eye but its prices didn't.



And one thing I realised about the houses there is that THEY ALL LOOK LIKE BEACH HOUSES! I adore those ol' wooden structures, with a cozy room right at the front, despite the "living-rooms-right-after-entrance" stereotype. A big fluffy window seat where you can just curl up and daydream while resting your chin by the glass of the square window panel, watching the raindrops trickle. Okay I don't know what I'm talking about. This photo doesn't represent the really cute one I saw though..



I soon decided to take a bus to Ponsonby for my SUPREME search.

What happened was that PEAKO here got 2 tickets lying around and is obviously stuck here in Melbourne (haha loser), and is willing to sell these babies. YOU'D HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIS MOM TO COLLECT EM! How cool is that? But in all honesty, I'd get em if I were home :(

Sometimes, it's hard LEARNING TO FALL, and THE REASON to that is a DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.

homeward bound

So in the last few days, I..



..skied and skidded, saw and touched snow for the first time..



..drove a billion times more than I've ever driven in Australia in the past 2 years. It was an amazing experience handling this Subie WRX for hours in pitch black conditions! I also..



..visited Rotorua and had the time of my life flying off slopes on a luge going downhill!

I'm heading for Melbourne tomorrow, can't wait to be home on my bed!

just the city for now

I had a good day, walked to the city, caught a train to Newmarket and then a bus to Ponsonby. Then I walked home. Unlike Melbourne, the transportation network is not as extensive, so you can't opt to "tram home".



I had this for breakfast. I'm still not sure why.

Then, I spotted Wendy's. Since it doesn't exist in Melbourne, I thought it was worth a try.



Well it wasn't.

The architecture here is quite fascinating, especially the modern ones.





Britomart is the main train station. Audi did a photoshoot there before, it's beautiful! The outside is not AS attractive, since I have Flinders to compare it to.

What's weird was that the traffic lights took AGES to change. BUT, once the peds are good to go, all four sides of the intersection goes green, and everyone just scrambles across the road. It was weird. I was staying within the lines.



But it's true, there's not much to do here.





Thankfully, I'm going SKIING TOMORROW! Have to leave at 4 or 5am! Then the day after, we're going to Rotorua for hot springs, luge, and HOPEFULLY (but quite unlikely) ZORBING!

Oh, and I had the most amazing Malaysian food experience outside Malaysia for dinner!

Got home, put down my stuff, we took a walk to the city, had good ol' Malaysian kaya toast with soft boiled eggs and teh (in the real kopitiam cup+saucer!), got home, had home cooked steam boat and ocean's thirteen on TV.

I'm ready to sleep. Didn't get much last night. Tomorrow's my only day to see town. Thank God there's not much to see. CAN'T WAIT TO SKI!

Was bored today and it's been ages since I had time alone, so before the sun went down, I went by the yarra for a walk.
