char koay teow

Not the best of my photos, but I present..

This was back in 2007, when my family and I visited beautiful PENANG! OMG I miss Penang.

I didn't own a DSLR back then, so these were taken with my Canon S2IS. CAN YOU BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE? I know right.. It's crazy. Haha.

This is a photo of Pinky on the escalator. Prolly at Gurney Plaza.

This is Pinky celebrating the Yule-tide!

Pinky hailing a taxi at the Hotel.

And lastly, Pinky scaling the hotel.

Oh, G Hotel is absolutely amazing!

haven't seen the vet museum, have you?

Yes, desperation has led me to study here.

Observation says that there is a direct correlation between the academic calendar and blogging.

2am snack

With a test on the next day, I think this was a bit of an overkill. Just a bit.

thank GOD for SKINNY JEANS!

As you've probably seen, I'm pretty well known for making skinny's look loose.

Well, here's a testimony that'll prove the miraculous, defying all sense of logic. And looseness.

I was enjoying a foggy autumn's noon with Alicia, walking to Taste of Asia, Lygon Street, for a quick lunch.

It is customary for me to waste that hour with Alicia by taking 30 mins away in the toilet, somehow my bowels set their alarms at 1pm.

After ordering the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice, I asked to be excused to reacquaint myself with 2 days worth of pasta.

It was long and foul. I even had to take out my precious Blackberry to sms Alicia, "I'm still going, so sorry. Promise I'll eat quick"

After flushing twice (yes, the volume was overwhelming), I washed my hands (with soap, mind you) and gobbled down my lunch, only to find that I've lost my Blackberry holster (the case la).

I searched all over, even went to the toilet twice to check, but to my horror, it was gone. I was so devastated, searching frantically on ebay for a new one, but China hasn't received the blueprints yet.

I then had an evil plan, but to CUT THE LONG AND SMELLY STORY SHORT, I went home searching for Taste of Asia's number, but being Asians, they do not pay for online advertising at all.

At the brink of mental breakdown, I walked out of my room to get some fresh air, only to feel something strange creeping up my ankle.

YES, you've guessed it, gross Wei Xiong had his Blackberry holster clinging for his life on my supposed skinny Levi's, surviving through miles of cycling and walking (I'm serious, I went to QV, talked to the people at Three, called Three, met and talked to Ming Xian, etc..).

I would therefore like to thank the awesome One up there for making my skinny jeans actually worth buying, and always coming through for me.

I would also like to dub thee.. SKINNIES!

BASK IN HIS GLORIOUSNESS PLEASE!

3 guys, a bike, and 2 10-minute-recycle-time flashes

a dreamy day

i took aneroxor (still subject to change) out for a long long ride. It was WAY more fun than I thought. Mini "vacations" like that rarely ever go as well as planned.

We had lunch, went everywhere our eyes led us, ignoring what google map said, getting honked by a bus, banging pedestrians like bowling pins. It was all good fun!

We found this REALLY old warehouse by ye olde train tracks, it was just so.. PERFECT! Self shot was WAAAY harder than expected, I took like millions but still couldn't get what I really wanted.

But it was seriously a fun day. We also rode by the river (Capital City Trail), and it's amazing to find swans, ducks and those birds (storks?) in that dirty water. I was hoping to find a platypus, knowing that the Yarra has em. But I don't think that was the Yarra.

More photos when the films are developed!

Go biking one day. The places you see for half a second on the train can blow you away!

**UPDATED**

This is an approximate depiction of where I went. Not really accurate, but good enough. WOOT, so proud of myself!

jogja, revisited..

I realised I didn't talk much about Jogja. What happened was that my sister won a vacation for 2, and I guess we didn't expect much out of it. The grand prize was ROME, for goodness' sake!

But when we arrived, we were STUNNED by this beautiful hotel, hidden among old shophouses and roadside stalls. Put me there again, I wouldn't be able to find it for you.

The fish! OMG! There're so many of em, you just feel grossed out, imagining how it would feel like if you fell into the pond! Beautiful, nonetheless.

I guess, without realising it, we got cheated PLENTY of times. But who cares? EVERYTHING WAS SO CHEAP! The horse ride there, I reckon, is a digit less than what Melbourne would charge you!

The hotel had the most amazing pool! I didn't get much of a dip in there because my sister failed to wake me up in the morning. :( The pool side cafe was ABSOLUTELY 100% ROMANTIC! They had these individual tables set out at random spots around this jungle forest-looking pool setting, under cozy lil' gazebo's, and MAN DID I WISH ALICIA WAS THERE!

We got so much more from what we expected, and free meals ALL THE WAY!

It was definitely an eye-opener.

Please go there if given the opportunity! But definitely choose Rome over it, k?
